Jurisprudence Exam – NP
All applicants for Nurse Practitioner registration must complete the NP Jurisprudence exam. If the applicant is not a Registered Nurse in PEI at the time of NP application, they must complete both the RN and NP Jurisprudence Exams. The NP Jurisprudence Exam is currently in development.
When the RHPA came into force in July 2018, it became a requirement to have a jurisprudence exam for new registrants as a requirement of registration. Jurisprudence is the concept of understanding and being knowledgeable about the legislative and policy requirements for registered nurses who are registered with CRNPEI.
The jurisprudence exam is required for any RN or NP entering practice or re-entering practice in PEI. See the Jurisprudence Exam Policy and Jurisprudence RN Frequently Asked Questions.
